Traffic Safety

Located along school bus routes and next to hundreds of homes

There is increased traffic safety concerns based on the proposed location of the gravel pit mining site.

Why? Now, a new ingress and egress point is to be located next to hundreds of residences, and along the school bus routes for North Elementary, Noblesville East Middle, and Noblesville High School. Proposed townhomes will increased the traffic post-construction.

Bottom Line:

We need a Traffic Study to investigate the impact of this project. Would need to change to make this project safer for residential in the area as well as school bus routes. and park traffic?

We’ve been provided a Sight Distance Study from Beaver Gravel, but this should not be confused with a Traffic Study and doesn’t begin to cover the lion’s share of our safety concerns.

Our open questions in April 2022:

  1. How much truck traffic should we expect on regular days and days leading up to holidays?

  2. How is Allisonville Road’s designation as a bike route affected by the increased traffic?

  3. What impact will the dump truck traffic have on Potter’s Bridge Park, both prior to land being donated, and during the phased donation during excavation?

  4. Will more people be visiting the park after donations begin to be made?

  5. How do we know what infrastructure improvements should be made to ensure resident, park-goer, and bus traffic safety without a Traffic Study?

  6. What’s the proposed townhome development’s impact on traffic and and changing roadway infrastructure?

  7. How will the existing culvert that drains water away from homes across the street. be impacted by the proposed project, both during and after excavation?

What does this mean for you?

If you think more dangerous, industrial traffic is a bad idea, it’s time to take action, Noblesville.
